Unnatural and unsanctioned, the Urglun are vile fighting-beasts derived from damaged vats, cylinders and other apparatus salvaged from various abhuman laboratories and cobbled together by those who only know enough to produce these horrid things and little more...

Urglun are cheap, mass-produced synthetic war-fighting creatures who only exist to fight and die in combat. They can replace any of their limbs with those of another fallen Urglun and regain lost hit points by eating their own fallen -- should anyone give them the opportunity to do so. It is strenuously suggested that anyone finding themselves confronted by a horde of Urglun avoid letting the nasty brutes do this.

Many reptilian and similar races have an intensely negative reaction to the Urglun (-4 on all reaction rolls). It is unclear if this is because of their peculiar scent, or some weird emanation that the wriggling Urglun brain emits that is so disagreeable to these sorts of creatures.

Urglun have only a minimal and rudimentary form of consciousness, enough to follow simple orders. They are impervious to all forms of Charm, ESP or most psychic effects/attacks as there simply isn't enough there to affect.

Urglun are extremely susceptible to possession, receiving a -4 penalty to their Save against such attacks, however any instance of possession is short-lived at best (2d4 turns duration) because the Urglun brain/mind cannot serve as an adequate anchor for any but the most broken and minimally-developed psyches, souls or spirits.

There are dozens of sub-types and variant forms of Urglun scattered across the worlds, planes and time-lines. No one has bothered to document them all as of yet.

  1. While all of your monsters are really handy I especially like the Urglun. Well done!

  2. @Ancientvaults: Thanks! We're thinking of doing some advanced versions of the various critters, giving them more HD, more powers, etc. Hopefully that will make them more useful...
