Red Handed

Intrusive, malicious projections extending into our world from some other place, these fiendish intruders reach through walls, pass through barriers and circumvent magical wards in the course of their murderous assaults upon the unwary...

Lurksome and murksome, the murder-hands are not from our world. They do not partake of matter in quite the same way as most physical beings, beasts or things. Only partially tangible, on the very verge of visibility and true physicality, these despicable trespassers violate any and all boundaries as they seek out victims to torment and throttle. Vicious stranglers and uncanny chokers, the Red-Handed go anywhere there is gloom, dim-light and murky surroundings. They evoke a murkiness within the air as they move about, wherever they have chosen to manifest or have been deliberately called by the overly ambitious and magically obtuse. Though they can be summoned easily enough, Murder-hands cannot be controlled, nor can they be easily dismissed or banished. These beings have come a long, long way to visit ruin and mayhem upon a fearful populace. They instill terror wherever they have been seen and though they lie in ambush to attack from surprise, they always make certain that they are seen and noticed. There must always be a witness to their attacks. No one is certain if this is merely vanity or some rule these things observe or if it is all part of their overall strategy. All that is known, is that sometimes, it really is better to remain all alone in the dark...for the alternative can be quite grim and deadly...

  1. Gruesomely Evocative (as always with Wermspittle content), and I especially like the fairytale touch.

  2. Thanks! The new play-testers (Group 3) will have an opportunity to potentially run into these critters, depending on what they decide to do...

We're looking forward to revisiting Zilgor's Repose with Group 2 as well. We'll be re-sizing and revising the map from ZR for the pdf based in part on your input/feedback, so thanks for the great discussion! We really appreciate the opportunity to discuss technique and sort out some of the issues with the previous experiments. We have an exciting new direction, new approach to try out now!
