Du Campion refers to the Ordrang as mindless stealers of life-force, but this is just not true at all. In fact the Ordrang are really scavengers, rarely preying upon living or animate beings unless pressured to do so by circumstances, such as under the control of a dominating sorcerer or in cases of extreme privation. They do not consume life force, vril, prana, or anything along those lines--instead they devour ectoplasm. They eat the subtle matter that comprises the bodies of ghosts, spectres and other revenants. And sometimes they eat those who come too close to them while astrally projecting. Perhaps it was such an incident that Du Campion was referring to in his classic treatise Morbid Thoughts From the Moonlit Moors. Perhaps.

Ordrang are opportunistic scavengers that consume stray ectoplasm, absorb decaying energetic resonances, and devour immaterial undead such as ghosts, fractgeists, or malevolent presences. They are greatly hated by Fantomists, who will do everything in their power to destroy any Ordrang that they encounter.

They can use Knock, Detect Undead, Dimension Door, Duo-Dimension, Passwall, and Phase Door at will.

Ordrang are only vaguely sentient, and completely lack all language skills. Blind, deaf, and mute, they rely entirely upon a crude form of necromantic empathy to feel their way around. They are subject to Confusion effects, but are immune to Fear or life-force draining attacks including the Terror ability of Sanguinovores.
